GUIDED SCRAMBLING & MOUNTAINEERING WEEKS
This week-long guided scrambling and mountaineering course in Morocco’s Anti-Atlas is designed for hillwalkers and climbers wanting to develop confidence and independence on exposed mountain terrain. Based around the dramatic peaks and ridges surrounding Tafraout, the course explores classic scrambling routes, airy ridgelines, and remote mountain landscapes while teaching the essential movement and safety skills required for non-technical scrambles and sections of technical mountaineering terrain.
Over five full mountain days, experienced and qualified instructors guide participants across a variety of classic scrambling routes and ridges in the Anti-Atlas. The course focuses on developing practical mountain skills in a real environment, helping participants become more confident moving efficiently and safely across exposed rocky terrain. Instruction includes route choice, movement skills on scrambling ground, balance and footwork, navigation, mountain awareness, basic ropework where appropriate, and techniques for managing personal safety on steep terrain.
The Anti-Atlas provides an ideal setting for scrambling and mountaineering training, with long rocky ridges, numerous lofty peaks, spectacular granite formations, rugged mountain valleys, and reliable weather conditions through much of the year. Routes are chosen to suit the experience and progression of the group, offering a balance of challenge, instruction, and exploration in one of Morocco’s most visually striking mountain regions.
