MULTIPITCH TRAD CLIMBING COURSES
Max ratio - 1:2
This intermediate to advanced multi-pitch climbing week in Morocco’s Anti-Atlas is designed for experienced climbers looking to develop their movement, efficiency, and confidence on longer traditional and sport multi-pitch routes. Based around the world-class climbing areas surrounding Tafraout, the trip offers five full days of guided climbing on spectacular granite and quartzite walls, with a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 2 climbers for highly personalised coaching and support.
The Anti-Atlas is renowned for its adventurous multi-pitch climbing, offering everything from long moderate routes and exposed ridgelines to sustained crack systems and technical face climbing. With reliable weather, quiet crags, and dramatic mountain scenery, the region provides an exceptional environment for climbers wanting to push their skills in a safe and inspiring setting.
Throughout the week, experienced and qualified climbing instructors tailor each day to the ability and objectives of the team. Climbers have the opportunity to refine technical systems and improve efficiency on longer routes while exploring some of the area’s classic climbs and mountain crags.
The course includes instruction and coaching in:
Multi-pitch rope systems and efficiency
Route planning and decision making
Advanced belaying and stance management
Building and managing anchors
Trad gear placements and protection strategy
Climbing movement on cracks, slabs, and steep terrain
Retreats, abseiling, and problem solving
Developing confidence leading longer routes
The 1:2 guiding ratio allows for flexible route choice, individual coaching, and a more focused learning experience, making the trip suitable for climbers looking to progress their trad or multi-pitch climbing in a supportive environment.
Accommodation is provided in traditional guesthouses and mountain lodges around Tafraout, offering a comfortable and welcoming base after long days in the mountains. Evenings are spent relaxing with Moroccan food, reviewing the day’s climbing, and planning the next objective.
